ACOLYTES

Assist the clergy in the conduct of public worship. They light the candles, carry the cross, aid the service.

ADULT EDUCATION

Adult education classes are as scheduled throughout the year. They include Lenten soup supper studies as well as other classes which are held at various times during the year.

ALTAR GUILD

Sets up the altar for worship services, weddings and funerals. Cares for altar linens and vessels. Arranges altar flowers.

BAZAAR WORKSHOP

This group meets every Monday at 10:00 a. m. until 2:00 p.m. in the parish hall to prepare hand- crafted and sewn items for the annual bazaar.

BELL CHOIR

Bell ringing for occasional performances at church services. Rehearsals are Monday at 3:30 p.m.

BIBLE STUDY CLASS

Informal study/discussion, meets Thursday Mornings 10:30-11:30 A.M. downstairs in the Fireside room.

CENTERING PRAYER GROUP

The Centering Prayer Group meets for silent meditation and contemplation in the Chapel on Thursdays from 11:30 until 12:00

CHOIR

Participates in the 10:00 service each Sunday all year round. Rehearsals are 3:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

DAUGHTERS OF THE KING

An order for laywomen who are communicants of The Episcopal Church and who have pledged themselves to a life of prayer and service. Meetings are the first Tuesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. in the parish hall for a social time, then in the church for meditation, prayer, and study. Daughters work at the direction of the parish Rector.

DELEGATES TO DIOCESAN CONVENTION

Delegates and alternates are elected for 2 year terms as representatives of St. Luke’s to the annual convention of the Diocese of Olympia.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS AND LECTORS

Eucharistic ministers are licensed by the Bishop and trained to lead certain services, assist with the distribution of communion, read lessons and the Prayers of the People at the Eucharist.  Lectors are appointed by the Rector and trained to read lessons and the Prayers of the People.

EUCHARISTIC VISITORS

Eucharistic Visitors are licensed by the Bishop and trained to take Holy Communion to those who cannot come to church.

A group working to understand how to protect our environment and lead our community in the care of the earth.

FLOWER MINISTRY

Altar flowers are delivered by volunteers to sick, shut-in or caregiver parishioners as a support measure and spirit lifter. Susan Ayer 681-8528

FOYER GROUPS

Small groups of 6-8 people gather together for dinner, lunch or brunch in each others homes to get to know each other better. Groups change periodically so that parishioners can meet new people

HELPING HANDS MINISTRY

Weekly volunteers help parishioners in time of illness or emergency with transportation, food, call on shut-ins at home and in nursing homes, make hospital calls.

HUGGABLE DOLLY MINISTRY

The Huggable Dolly Ministry makes soft, colorful, handmade dollies to put in the arms of those who need comfort.  While this ministry’s outeach is primarily to children, it also includes adults who need tangible support for ongoing healing.

LIBRARY

St. Luke’s library has a healthy start, and donations to buy books and videos are welcome. The library is in the northeast corner of the parish hall. Books and videos may be checked out any time.

LITTLE SISTERS OF ST. CLARE

The Little Sisters are a religious community for women.

MEN’S GROUP

Projects include the monthly Pancake Breakfasts, which fund youth scholarships; and occasional barbecues, picnics and fellowship meetings.

Meets the first Monday of the month at 8:00 a.m. for fellowship, breakfast and discussion.

NEWCOMERS

Coordinates the welcoming of newcomers to St. Luke’s church and helps them find their own place in our parish home. A get-acquainted social for newcomer’s is scheduled as needed.

PRAYER CHAIN

Intercessory prayer upon request.  There is plenty of room on each segment of the chain for more people to pray.

PRAYER QUILT MINISTRY

This group produces small quilts for those who are ill or are having surgery. Quilts are blessed at church services, tied with prayers for comfort of the recipient and given with love, hope and prayers represented by the quilt. Tracy Williams 461-1483

Provides information to local and church media about events at St. Luke’s.

This groups works on special parish events which can generate additional General Fund income.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Classes meet Sundays from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. for children in elementary grades. Sunday School rooms are in the lower level of the parish hall.

TAIZE

Monthly contemplative worship service in the style of the Taize Community in France. Yhis is a quiet service designed for reflection and meditation.

Greet people as they arrive for services and direct people to communion. They distribute bulletins, take up the offering.

VESTRY

Nine people elected by the parish at the annual meeting. The Vestry, in conjunction with the Rector is the governing body of the church, and is in charge of all property, responsible for the finances of the church, and approves the annual budget.

A program of recovery for those wishing to rid themselves of the burden of abuse. Meets several times during each week.

BOAR’S HEAD FESTIVAL

A yearly festival between Christmas and Epiphany presenting the Christmas through pageant and music. Categories for involvement include (solo, instrumental or choir) costume making, Properties, or scenery, as well as pageant roles.

BOY SCOUTS

This troop is sponsored by St. Luke’s and meets in the Parish Hall on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.

“LIGHT LUNCH”

A meal service for the homeless and others in need provided as a group effort by St. Luke’s, Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church, Sequim Community Church and Trinity Methodist Church. A “take away” meal is also provided for Sunday. Volunteers welcome.

MILITARY QUILT MINISTRY

This group makes quilts and quillos for military service member who have been wounded in action. These are then sent to Madigan Army Hospital for distribution.

MUSIC LIVE WITH LUNCH

Concerts (given by musical talent from the surrounding area) and luncheon on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, at noon, excepting summer. Season or single tickets available, or volunteer for the kitchen crew.

OUTREACH COMMITTEE

A committee which directs the spending of budgeted amounts for outreach; collects money and donations for Sequim. Coordinates outreach efforts of parish groups.
